I've lived in the city all of my life and this is random. Because there are those that front hard and only do anything in groups but there are also those that won't have a problem fighting you one on one and stabbing/shooting you. That's how I got stabbed in the forearm.

I won't dispute the fact that you are 10 times more likely to get shot or stabbed in NYC, in fact, I anticipate that when I move and will tone down my aggressive manner when I'm out.

However in a legit one on one fight the kid from Wisconsin or Ohio is going to straight up pound a new yorker. In fact the funniest fight I ever witnessed was between a ghetto banger from detroit and one of my boy's from kentucky. It lasted all of 10 seconds.

NYC made me a lot more aggressive. It also taught me not to talk to anyone on the street for any reason. People will sometimes yell after you, but don't turn around, they'll follow you.
