Too many chemicals... I don't know if I can trust sweeteners... And there is no way, I'm going down the 'herbal' route. I'll go with the sugar+moderation option. If I gain weight, I'll ditch the sugar completely. A new life awaits me.

The whole "omg splenda comes from sugar! that means it's not bad for you and surely couldn't give me cancer!" is the best marketing ploy I've seen in a long time.
Every time I have splenda (or sucralose, which is the same thing), I get terribly ill, skin dries out, get rashes, and sometimes puke. So, yeah, I avoid that terrible shit.
Aspartame has no effect on me. Not even addicting. Have gone weeks without it. Tend to enjoy it, however, so consume of it almost daily.
Stevia is ok on some things. Coke is making its own line of Stevia products/drinks. Not sure exactly when, but they're workin' on it. When its available, however, I may drink those instead of aspartame stuff.

That's me and I've been traveling the last few days and away from TNL. I just got in (FUCK NEWARK AIRPORT AND THIS GODDAMN WEATHER) so I will be brief.
The only artificial sweetener that you should avoid is saccharin. It was actually the reason why cyclamate was banned in the 60s. Ace K, aspartame and sucralose are all harmless.
MSG is also harmless. It's found naturally in so much shit that your head would spin. People like making shit up and MSG got hit hard.
HFCS will make you fat but it keeps your food costs way down. Can't have it both ways.
