No, it really makes sense, empower the buyer, not the person selling the goods.
And you're right, but Sammy Walton did his fair share of importing heroin....Off the records of course.
yes. I've heard that. But that does not touch on the part walmart plays in US consumer goods going to asia.
To further my point, before walmart, stories were not united like they are now. You had what? Macy's and Sears as national chains?
It may not be obvious, but before walmart, most stores had no power in where their goods came from. Companies made stuff to fill orders from distributors, who sent stock catalogs out to stores. The store got their stock from these suppliers, and other than buying from different suppliers, could not determine what they paid.
Then came Walmart which eventually got tremendous power from number of stories it had. Walmart eventually started to leverage this power against companies to get products at prices they wanted.
To meed these demands companies opened factories in asia to utilize the cheep labor and lax regulations. The people in these asian factories learned from their US benefactors and later started their own companies giving rise to many of todays most powerful foreign companies.
my explanation may be a bit simplistic, but is at least PART of the story of why our economy is the way it is now.

i speed read my post and don't catch odd little mistakes. As for why i make them in the first place, I don't really know. My brain organizes grammar and word rules in an odd way. Like yesterday I confused the name Jill with kelly. Somehow my brain was confusing them because of the two lls in the middle.
But yes, I'm a cornucopia of screwed up communicating skills. I'm weird AND I learned to write and spell in the south, soooo.....yeeeaahhh.....
I'm sure Biff knows engineers with even weirder personality quirks than that however.
This is truth, I learned we have a guy who can not get out of the building without a schematic, but he can build uranium resistor coils like nobody else.
I never said anything remotely like that. At all.
American business as a whole, including your beloved shitty moth-ball smelling mom & pop stores and not just Walmart, made the conscientious and smart decision to go with Chinese based goods because they were cheaper and people bought them. Whether or not America made the giant China is today or China made the giant China is today has no bearing on anything I've said as it pertains to consumer goods in the American marketplace right now.
You've made absolutely no point in your posts and rambled on about a bunch of shit that doesn't matter..Yet nothing you've said so far is a valid complaint against Walmart. There are PLENTY of things wrong with Walmart. Find a valid one and come back.
I am not a Walmart master of knowledge. I don't want to be one. But I've seen enough in the business world from my short career dealing with companies and how they work that you can't just ridiculously accuse and accost a big corporation when all they're doing is capitalizing on a system everyone else is too.
It's an easy, stupid argument idiots use to try and make themselves look smart.

It's pretty gay.
Everyone's angry at China. If you hate China then maybe you'll like it.
