  1. lol it's a 20 year old game, I think it's kinda my fault :P I just have to avoid them.

A lot of people liked PS III. It got great reviews at the time. The backlash in the gaming media came a few years later. In retrospect, it is the weakest one but I still liked it a lot. They should have made the mutiple endings vary more, though.

  3. I may skip over it anyways, or at least do it Last. I kind of really want to do PS -> PS4 -> PS2 -> PS Adventure -> PS Gaiden -> then PS3, but it may not be a bad idea to do them in order.

I loved PSIV so much when I played it emulated on the Dreamcast, I got pretty far and I think I just lost the disk I was playing it on

  4. Has anyone tried PStar 2 without a guide? That seems impossible at my old, addled age.

I beat it without a guide. I bought it used and the guide was missing. I played about 80% of way through it a couple times back in the day but never beat it until I replayed it a few years ago. It was easily the hardest game in the series.

I couldn't agree more. One of the things I liked about it so much, is that at the time without the internet to spoil anything, it was always interesting to see what the next generation was going to look like, with everyones kids and how they look like their parents.

I got all the ending, but your right, they were very similiar. I'm very happy that they addressed the ships (alisa 3, etc.) in PS4. Strangely, until a few years ago, I had always assumed that PS3 took place long after PS4.

Phantasy Star II was my first of the series; I'd bought PS III around the time I'd bought a Nomad. I don't know what it was, but the game just didn't have the charm of PS II. The music was okay, the graphics looked alright, but together it just felt like a less detailed PS II.

I played it in college without a guide. I haven't played it since though. I very, very rarely replay games of any length.

The stories tie in, so yeah, play them in order.

Which would be PS, PS Gaiden, PS Adventure, PSII, Meganet Adventures, PSIII, PS4 if you want to include all the side stuff

Three of the 8 Meganet adventures are translated now, btw.
