Well... the fact they kept him captive on the bus was a close second to heroic behavior, gotta give them that.
Also, I heard the knife was no joke... not sure I would have jumped in to save that guy, especially after the 20th stab motion, he was dead already. Plan B, secure the bus and make sure he doesn't escape.
