We need to quickly get the public dialog away from the gun control idiocy and focused on how the hell we deal with stuff like this and this. We can debate the effectiveness of background checks and everything else forever, but we have absolutely nothing in place today to deal with IEDs, and it seems like people who want to make flashy statements a kin to mass shootings would be likely to head in that direction increasingly.

Is this like a cultural thing I'm missing? Do I just not see the problem because I know doctors with horse ranches that make their own explosives to clear tree stumps? While I was taping bottle rockets together and dropping them in garbage cans, did the rest of the country move on and forget that any of that stuff existed?

fireworks are explosive devices. You're making an arbitrary distinction based on your feelings. Fireworks make you feel good, and explosive devices make you feel bad.

In instances like this, you should have to prove intent to kill to bring charges. Otherwise, we're going to have dumb kids with criminal records because they emptied a bunch of fire crackers into an old coke bottle.

If you can't prove intent, just give them a fine for doing it in the city limits.

I haven't seen many yet, but if they're negative, I agree. The guy did more than a lot of people would have and gave a great interview. Plus, his response about receiving a reward was amazing.

Yeah. I mentioned the Antoine Dodson thing on FB because he's an eccentric guy who became an Auto-tune Star, too. But the difference, I think, is Antoine got a mic shoved in his face just for being there and ran with it. Ramsey saved four lives and seems like a genuinely good person.
