I stir all of the waters, I just don't talk about it here.
People have been saying that thhe country has been going down the toilet since the day after it was founded. That's nothing new.
What is new is that we are no longer tied down by what the major press corps wants to talk about.
Is Baltimore a piece of shit right now? Does it piss you off? Aren't you not working? Make a fucking blog. Post more pictures of the fucked up shit you see on Twitter. Get it out there. Maybe only ten people will read it. But if enough people start stirring the waters up, someone eventually is going to cause a whirlpool that sucks up everyone's attention.

I just didn't think it pissed you off.
Check out Mr. Businessman
He bought some wild, wild life
On the way to the stock exchange
He got some wild, wild life
Which is, in some ways, more depressing. A lot of people really do think the way you and No One said. Look at the comments section of your local newspaper website, or a right-wing blog like Hot Air or FreeRepublic.
The way this stuff is covered is just the flip side of the whole "don't want muh tax money going to those blahs" stuff we see every time a Democrat is elected. The two feed off each other.
The disgusting thing is that people think children and/or white people matter more than those that died in Chicago. When we have a big whitey shooting, and the news trots out the 9000-10000 murders each year, or 30,000 total gun related deaths, what do people think makes up that number? Some unknown US state full of white babies being sniped in the head?
It can be a problem worth solving without being news. If government were rightly limited to safety and infrastructure, there would be plenty of cops in every neighborhood to prevent most of this bullshit. So when people demand handouts of a thousand flavors that the government should not provide, they're choosing to not be safe.
That's such a bullshit argument.
You can stand there and stump about what would happen in a perfect world, but that does nothing to cure the woes that take place in the real world.
Just about everyone would agree that people should be responsible and should do this and should do that.
But that's not the world we live in. So now what.
Like or not, a lot of people need those handouts and favors.
Do I get pissed that I have to work hard to seemingly have just a little bit more than those that barely work at all? Sure. But that's just selfish bullshit when you take an honest look at it.
Not everyone is going to practice safe sex.
Not everyone is going to graduate and earn a most likely useless degree.
So now what.
Let them die? What the fuck kind of society is that to live in? Who gets to choose who gets to breath and who doesn't? Who's to say the fuckwit that you let die now wouldn't have become a satisfactorially contributing member of society later? Someone has to pick up the slack. Even if only 1 out of 3 people who get a handout actually deserve it, are you willing to let that person suffer or die in order to spite the two other assholes? If so, you (general you, not just Yoshi) are a complete piece of shit.
You (now I do mean Yoshi) don't want government involved in social governence beyond speaking softly and carrying a big nightstick.
So what is your plan of attack to help those who need it? How are you going to get decent teachers into the slum schools when both their paycheck and safety are woefully inadequate?
Until I hear a realistic answer as to who can do all the things that has been left for the government to do, I don't want to hear any more whining about how things are handled.
Beaucracy is almost as sinful a being as corporation, but it's all we have.
You don't want the government running the show, point me in the direction of those who realistically could.

Finally someone is going to do something about these social problems!
