My problem with Snowden is that most media that I've seen make it more about him around the globe than PRISM. I get that the government wants to sweep it under the rug, but it doesn't help that Snowden didn't do this anonymously.
"Hey boss man, I don't like this program the gubment is paying us millions of dollars a year to work on"

I would wager it's because doing things anonymously is an easy to get killed with nobody noticing. There is plenty of talk about PRISM with me and my friends, I don't know about everyone else. I completely lost faith in both parties, quite possibly for the rest of my life, because of the actions of one man.

Well yeah, it's a two way street. If he does it anonymously, the message is dampened due to the source, but he can also be "handled" without anybody knowing. Coming out shows he has conviction, and makes him a public figure.
Arguably attaching his name to it makes him safer too. We all know there's almost no such thing as anonymity. Once the feds figured out it was him, had he not attached his name, it would have been a lot easier to make him disappear without the public noticing or being informed of it.
Yup. Now, when they kill him, we'll know. Just like that guy in the Whitey Bulger trial who "mysteriously" turned up dead the day before he was supposed to testify (and, LOL, the day they scratched him from testifying).
What's almost as gross as what they were doing, is how they are chasing this guy down for revealing something we ALL SHOULD BE ABLE TO KNOW.
How many people in this country really are against us even knowing that the government is doing this.
Edit: I don't even know why the south is paranoid about terrorist attacks. It's not like they are important enough to merit attacking.
