I've said this before, but my sex ed was an old ugly woman coming to my driver's ed class or 'family class' or something like that and telling us that every time we had sex with someone, we gave a part of our heart/soul to them. And that the more people we had sex with, the more empty we'd be. We were gultied into filling out promise cards that we'd keep in our wallets (promising that we'd wait until marriage).
That is the kind of garbage 'rural' america tells kids about sex.
I personally found it hilarious. I already knew a ton of shit about sex.
But some people are pretty fucking stupid. We have kids entering college that don't know what proper nouns are. They don't know all their multiplication tables. They don't know that a paragraph isn't 5 sentences in a block. They don't know to use google to look for information. They don't write anything. Some not even for school. They don't read books.
Thats the reality. Thats other Americans. That is kids between the ages of 10 and 20. Everyone here might be smart and figured shit out on their own. But not everyone else is like that. And there are people out there, actively trying to misinform them.

I like how people think information is all we need to cure what ails us as a nation. It is just not realistic though.
Maybe the people who are telling people to abstain are t evil old prudes. Maybe they realize that most people are stupid and lazy, and scaring people into not having sex is the easiest way to handle shit. Im going to make some points, some hit close to home for me. Feel free to make jokes, but maybe think about it too, if its not too challenging to do so.

There is plenty of information out there about plenty of things, that too many people choose to ignore for mostly stupid and selfish reasons, but most of which can be attributed to "but it feels good."
Sex is the epitome of "it feels good", even in areas where free condoms and psas about stds flow like water, people are still being unsafe because rawdog feels good.
Perhaps these evil old prudes look at things like this: very little damage is done to an individual or a society that saves sex for marriage. A lot of damage can be done to both individuals and society that has sex willy nilly with no thought or concern for protecting themselves. Its the lesser of two evils.
And what's so bad about a bit of shaming? If you saw my fat ass walking out of dunkin donuts with a 12 pack, and shoving two donuts in my mouth before i even got to the car, would i not deserve some shame?
Im not advocating some puritanical public shaming, but we seem to be heading towards a society that feels it should be able to do whatever it wants simply because it wants to, and that just isnt a society that can work. People need to have a conscience and guilt is a big part of that.
Disclaimer: i am against abortion in a perfect world scenario. I believe you are killing a person. But this isnt a perfect world, and so i will always support a woman's right to choose as i believe killing the child would be better than forcing someone who doesnt want it to have it. Its that lesser of two evils thing again.

I'm gonna use sweeping generalizations here because fuck yeah. Food education is shit. People shop based on the front of the box (fat free!) and get fat. It is very difficult to eat cheap and healthy unless you know your shit and plan it out. Smoking hooks you young, while you're still immortal, then you keep smoking because addiction.
I ran out of time, but you know where I'm going with this.
Also, I ate two donuts last night. I feel no shame.
