I believe in holding people accountable more than I believe in not holding them accountable, because that's the only two options here.
You don't trust cops, but you trust bureaucrats? If you'd like to see more unelected government employees go wild, especially today, be my guest.

I will say that it's probably smart for a state to get on this before the Feds fuck it up completely.
Right, but do you really think fellow government employees will do a better job than grand juries made up of the public? If your position on Ferguson is that the DA tanked his own case, why couldn't that exact thing happen here with a much larger bill attached?
Yeah, that's kind of the point. This isn't an independent check and balance. It's just more taxes.
The joyless dead mechanical dance of an empty mind, imo.
Because these are independent organizations. Basically a special prosecutor, the type they set up when they don't think a DA will do a fair job. There were calls for the governor to appoint a special prosecutor in the Brown case, but it didn't happen. It should have.
One of the main problems here is that the DA is working with the same cops they are investigating on a daily basis. If you can't see how that conflict of interest can be avoided by putting someone on the case who doesn't worth with those cops on a daily basis, I don't know what to tell you.
I can. What I don't see is how this is really going to be different, but I guess we'll find out.
