I can't hang with those Nolan movies at all. Ledger's an interesting character who doesn't really amount to much by the end, Bane has a fun silly voice, that's about the extent of 'em.
Cool article on the Burton Batman Gotham City;

I know those movies haven't aged particularly well, but when I think of those great sets and scenes and sense of style and compare them to the way Nolan just used the Chicago skyline in the new ones, I get a bit bummed out.

EVEN DEER AREN'T SAFE FROM THE POLICE.
It is just as bad.
What's funny is Batman Begins was near-perfect*, then the sequels botched it. Gotham actually looked like Gotham, there were fucking NINJAS and other comicbooky things, and most importantly, it was understood (and even outright stated at the end) that Batman is the real identity and Bruce Wayne the mask. How did they go from that to having him spend the next two movies working out his retirement strategy?
*The villains were kinda weak, making it the reverse of TDK.
Dark Knight films were interminable.
Boo, Hiss.
I liked bane's voice, that's mostly what I took from them. I thought the first one was exceptionally boring.
