You just seem to be coming at this from the perspective of someone that knows about comedy when you should know damn well that quitting the road because the crowds kind of suck isn't some new thing, nor does it mean he's literally quitting comedy or that he's just not good enough.

Like I said before, he very likely wasn't paid much of anything and will be focusing on performing in alt rooms or something, especially if he's doing sketch & improv.

Not wrong, but cherry picking your data. I like a lot of talk radio/podcasts, and a lot of comedy. And yes, that includes the cringey, dirty stuff.
