Thread: Today's Random News

Sure are a lot of libs pissed off about anyone talking nice about Hef after his death.

"Did you know he made a career profiting off of the image of women !?!"

    You don't say.

Also, the pretend outrage of the right at the left supposedly being ok with hef. Their feed must look very different than mine.

  2. Yet no one gaf when his old ass had a harem.

    Opportunist on both sides.

  4. I'm really confused now.
Is the message that men always exploit women's sexuality and it's bad or that we (the people) are a bunch of prudes and need to get over the fact that women can choose to use their sexuality however they see fit.
Is it going to be like the use of certain words that are ok if a certain population uses them but not if other parts do? Burritos can only be made by those of latin/native descent?
Like, a completely female owned/controlled/staffed smut organization is ok, but one in which a man has anything to do with it is problematic?

  5. In addition to the "You must be 18 to enter this site" disclaimers, will there be disclaimers for porn sites using the same sort of language you read on "certified organic" labels?

The short answer is that there is no unified opinion on that with feminist or liberals. One camp is fighting for sexual freedom. Another is using progressive retoric to advance old prudish social mores.

    Get off the internet.

Reading that stuff isn't making you a happier or smarter person. So don't.

  8. I've noticed since Bowie passed that for every major celebrity death, someone has to virtue signal how "they can't mourn the death because they did this shitty thing." I don't know if they're just kids who are learning that their heroes aren't perfect or they're trying to be the outsider or what.
I know people have done this for a long time, though, I was seeing the same for Steve Jobs or Michael Jackson. It just feels like I see it more frequently now.
Why are you reading this? go to your general settings and uncheck the Show Signatures box already!

  9. There are some pieces of the Hef dialogue that make sense (the Brooke Shields stuff,) but yeah, it's mostly virtue signaling. I feel that in historical context, his actions we remarkable and important. In a modern context (i.e., if he just started playboy ityool 2K17,) it would be seen as abusive, patronizing, and unnecessary. But in order to get HERE, we had to come from THERE. I think it's of the utmost importance to distinguish that it's not a black and white situation, i.e. he did good and bad things. Just like Cosby. Just like Polanski. etc. This, of course, is impossible to say on social media.
