Yep, I have to be right up to my TV to notice any improvement between 720 and 1080. 4k is a hilarous scam, and I congratulate the people behind it on their brass balls.
I'll be getting 4k computer monitors at some point, but I don't think I'll ever need a TV.

To be fair, 4k can conceivably bring some benefit, unlike 3D.
Frame interpolation makes everything look like a goddamn soap opera, I've never seen a big super-modern HDTV being demo'd that didn't have that on. No appeal. Keep it.
