Thread: Say No to Console Bundles!

  1. Say No to Console Bundles!

The article covers the Wii shortage, but I think the bullet points on how to fight forced bundles would be well-remembered for any next-gen console sale/shortage/launch

  2. Why not take the "shop somewhere else" option?

  3. That would be too logical.

  4. A store gets a product, they should be able to sell it any way they want.

This is exactly why I don't go to GameStop anymore, and also why I am now buying games at MicroCenter.

  5. When I first saw the Wii come out, I couldn't find a place that wasn't selling it stand alone. That was my main problem with it. I know a few stores did but I'll be damned if I'm going to wait in line all night for a video game console.

  6. One retailer I spoke with told me that a Nintendo shipment wasn't so much a box of systems as it was a briefcase full of money; the store was assured a good sales day as the systems flew off the shelves along with extra controllers and games.

I waited 2 hours in front of GameStop with my parents when they first started taking preorders. No bundles.

Nin,Sony,MS bundles i think are fine. A 360 with Forza 2 imo is glory. I'm just gonna buy a new 360 since my old one's anus hungered for it. and it collapse in on itself.

But that store bundle shit has to go. Wal-Mart is the worst offender. that deal they had for the Wii was pure bullshit.

When it comes to consoles, I've never waited in line, never preordered, and never bought a bundle. I just check Target early in the morning every once in a while. I've bought my PS2, Xbox x 2, DS, 360, DS Lite, and PS3 there. I got my Wii on complete blind ass bad luck when I was picking up Lost Planet from Circuit City. Talk about a lose/lose.

That's another thing I'm not willing to do: Shell out for a pre-order. Fully paid or not, once I pay for my ticket it should be guaranteed. I don't want to hear about how they went overboard with pre-orders and cannot meet demand and so those that paid full-price get it first. This happened to me with the PS2. I refuse to be had like that again.
