Thread: Trackmania to see releases on other platforms

  1. #71
What really angers me is that whenever somebody manages to corner a Nadeo developer and ask about the ShitForce, they always trot out the same old RIAA-style dogma of "If you don't like it, you must be an evil pirate. Only pirates hate copy protection."

  2. Thanks to Vista Starforce is dead anyway. It's a moot point.

Just get United on Steam. It's Starforce-free and it integrates much of the content from the past games into one package. It's all anyone could need. For all I care they could release all the further games for the ZX Spectrum. United's all I need.

  3. The only baffling thing about United is that

    1. It's compatible with track files and skins from older games.
    2. All the official tracks and skins from the older games are up on Nadeo's data exchange sites for individual download.
    3. United doesn't come bundled with the tracks or skins.

Was there any real reason to not just include them in the game in the first place? I wound up copying all the data out of TMO, Nations, and Sunrise: tracks, music, campaigns, and skins. United loads all of it happily.

  4. If one good thing came out of this thread, it was the praise for United finally giving me the push to grab it on STEAM.

Holy shit, I haven't had this much fun on my PC in ages. This shit works great with the 360 pad too.
    ABOUT ME.

"Underground music should have its back turned, it needs to be gone, untrackable, unreadable"

  5. Yeah, it pushed me to finally see if my current video card could handle it, but then I saw there was no demo, so I said fuck it.

  6. I'm on a pretty modest system (2+ years old) and I managed 60fps, 4xAA at 1280x1024. It's really not that demanding.

  7. I've been a bit swamped, not wanting to get any new games in the last few weeks, but this thread also pushed me into getting Trackmania United. Haven't snagged it yet, but the day isn't over.

    -edit- Downloading now. Woo!

  8. BTW, Nadeo recently talked about their upcoming update/expansion to Nations/United: No Starforce.

(The expansion will be free to all United owners. And they're also releasing an update to Nations, which will again be free for ANYONE to download)

    edit:

This bears repeating for anyone new to United.

  9. I could upload a pack of all the old content, if anybody wants it. Nothing you can't find on the exchange sites save a few MP3s.

Might have to wait until I get back to school in a couple weeks, though.

That would be cool, if you can be bothered
