Ok, so aside from getting a Japanese Gamecube or Q, I know that Action replay's and FreeLoaders boot imports on the gamecube. There's always thee mod switch route as well, but since I'm broke and don't have the special nintendo screwdriver, I come to you guys to asee if anyone else has tried this or knows if it will work.
The "Ultimate codes" disks they have for like Wind Waker and Mario Kart are Action replay branded, will those allow me to boot imports (Like PSO) on my US GC if the PSO is a JPN region disk? Or are they coded to only boot the game listed on the cover and will just boot me back out to the main menu if its not Wind Waker or Mario Kart?
Any input would be appreciated.

I can't weigh in about those other discs you mentioned, but a note of caution about Freeloader. It won't load the Japanese fonts properly in some games, and it'll display garbage characters instead of text. One Piece Treasure Battle is the only one that did it to me, but I've heard of trouble with other titles as well.
I have a Freeloader and it worked just fine. It won't work with my Wii though for some reason.
I modded my Gamecube because Freeloader could not write Mr. Driller's Drill Land saves to my memory card. Any JPN games released after Mr. Driller's Drill Land might not save to your memory card if you used Freeloader or another device to boot the game.
