Name a single acceptance speech in which the winner didn't talk about achieving a new era of bi-partisanship. It's mandatory. Though, if Obama's associations (his real ones) are any indication, he'll follow the Clinton model and simply kowtow to them on issues while never truly getting them to like him.

That is true, but I think Obama took it a step further by specifically praising the Republican party, in detail, as a righteous and noble institution. I got the sense from that speech that Obama really wants to serve as an independent, and I'm willing to believe him until he proves me wrong.
I hope he puts more troops into Afghanistan. The Canadians have been carrying the load there for years.
