Thread: Election Thread 2008 MAKE SURE YOU VOTE

  1. Just so long as it isn't Ghouliani.
    Time for a change

  2. I think this was posted elsewhere, but I can't find where. It's a Conservative (surprise!) blogger's vaginal explosion over elements of Mass Effect that don't exist.

The most LOLable thing is the comments, in which people actually defend that he doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about, saying that he only miffed the "details." It's all one big right-handed circle jerk about censorship and our poor, corrupted youth.

  3. Hey, the Democrats had to run Frankenstein last time. It's only fair that Dracula should get his turn.

Also, Melf, let us not forget Tipper Gore's music censorship tirade of the 1980s. Guess who her husband is?

He's not a conservative. He's an idiot Christian. Here is the best conservative response on the site:

Conservatives also support and defend individual responsibility, which means that the parents are ultimately responsible for ALL matters with their children. We hold them responsible for their safety, nourishment, education, AND exposure to things the parents do not wish them to see.

You cannot use the excuse that "well, the parents aren't (or the alternate - too busy) doing it, so the State must step in. Think of the children!!" You can't because we find you a raving lunatic that wants to step on freedom. I don't want YOU, or by extension the state, raising my children. *I* decide what's best for them.

Scott, I bet you didn't know you were a liberal, did you? Join the club. Kevin doesn't think he is either. Go look up the definition of liberalism, then join dailykos and sing "it takes a village."
It's amazing how many people on TNL don't know the basics for liberal vs. conservative.

  5. Hey now, Christians can be Idiot Conservatives too.

  6. #626
Not typically. Voting Republican doesn't necessarily make you conservative. You could just be right by accident like the Christians.

  7. Socially conservative, sire. I don't think there's been a fiscal conservative in many years.

  8. #628
You're confusing politicians with conservatives. There are fiscal conservatives all over Wall Street.

I thought we were talking about voting blocks. You talk like nobody turned out to vote against teh ghey marrages last time.

The leadership is absolutely 'properly' conservative, in many cases, yes. The voters... not as much? That's why the religion trick keeps working. The religious right still identifies itself as 'conservative', though.

I actually think you have it backwards in a lot of cases. The candidates are all way too liberal, so true conservatives have no one to support. Half-assed morons like the religious conservatives probably love it though.
