Thread: How do you deal with being read the riot act?

  1. I'm sorry to anyone that has to deal with that kind of shit on the regular. Is this allowed to happen all the time? Does anyone evaluate these managers? The more I read about management, the less I could ever dream of blowing up at an employee.

  2. out their. Nice.

Also I just payback stupidity with service. If someone brings me something they want fixed but could have brought to me hours ago, and instead wants it done now, it's going to be the last thing I do.

When someone's ready to leave at noon, and they don't get to leave till 1:30 because I put them in the back of the line, they are the first ones there after a few weeks.

  3. Depends. If I fuck up and get called on it by my boss, I take it. If it's not my fault, I don't.

I don't take one iota of shit from anyone I deem on my level or beneath me, however. I had a co-worker start bitching at me a few months ago and I just told her to fuck off.

Well, it's more high stress (especially in high level b2b sales) blow ups happen every day. It's how you handle them that makes or breaks you.

The difference is that men can take the abuse, work harder, then it can be made up with a beer and a steak.

Now woman on the other hand, go right into self pity or shut down completely 99% of the time.

Remember though hubs, sometimes millions of dollars are at stake, so emotions run high.

I personally only yell at people behind closed doors, that is the best way to handle the issue.

It's been a few years since I did anything but work for myself, but before that if I fucked up then I take it. Sometimes if tensions were running really high I'll let some shit slide too, within reason. People get a little snippy when they're stressed out. I've had a few managers that were fantastic, and others that lacked the interpersonal skills (my dad being the worst example), and I'm actually the same way. As long is it ain't personal, and you haven't mistaken me for your doormat, it's cool. Otherwise, you will be told to get fucked.

Also, under no circumstance do I tolerate anyone treating me as less than an equal. A position of authority does not equal a position of superiority.

This. The above only applies when this is the case. I don't give a fuck if I just brought your whole company down, you better have enough respect for me not to call me out in front anyone else. Doing this has actually resulted in at least 2 ass-whippings.
To boldly go where lots of men have gone before...

  9. If I deserve being yelled at then it's fine.

Otherwise I'll just walk away while you're talking.
    Boo, Hiss.

  10. My dad told me he wanted to punch my old boss, back when I was in high school. Funny thing is, my boss was a woman. srs lol.
