Thread: Disappering Car Door

  1. Are you sure this isn't fake? It looks too cool to be true.
    nocturne:
"I view terrorists as freedom fighters."

  2. Its real. There is a shit ton of hydraulics and electronics in the trunk to make the thing work. The drivers side door stopped working and they can't get it to work properly.

It never went anywhere due to this, and if it fails on both sides, your trapped in, or locked out of your car permanently. Not to mention if the old fart driving the thing drives it into a lake or something, and they are good as dead.

Edit: I didnt originally watch the link, I was just going on the prototype car that popped up on ebay a while back. This site doesnt look legit, just seems like the original promo video for the company who came up with the concept.

    Michael doesn't deserve to die.

    Rich people sure are different.

  6. If these catch on, they will ruin decades of future-car continuity in modern sci-fi movies. These doors weren't installed on the cars in Blade Runner, so I'm guessing they'll just be a passing fad.

    Like high-def TV's and flat-panel monitors.

    Protip:
Anything that makes your car more like an intergallactic battle cruiser = fuck saftey.

You do it because it rocks.

Somebody should have also quickly realized that since the car is getting 7.8 metric assloads of body modification done, the window frames could be removed for a 0.01% increase of the total modification cost.

  9. The problem isn't with removing the window frames. The problem is, if the car door has a window frame, then that's part of what's required to actually seal the car when the door is closed.

You can't just remove the frame. When the door is closed it fits into the roofline and A and B pillars like a puzzle piece.

The entire side of the car is being modified. What does it matter what used to seal what where and fit in however. You build the new side of the car to seal without all that crap. Like I said:
