I was biting my tongue when the Wind Waker bit came up.

The Zelda article went up like two days ago if you want to read ten pages of feigned enthusiasm (actually I do love 2D Zelda).

I assumed after 10 pages that no one would actually read it to the end and they'd all be bored, but apparently they read every word and got on my case about not talking about [insert random spin-off or cameo] as if I just plum forgot.

No, I wrote that article to piss people off. I didn't expect anyone to agree with me really.

  2. "with many (including IGN) awarding it[zelda ocarina of time] perfect scores. It has weathered the test of time with the best of them, and earlier this year, IGN readers voted it the greatest game of all time."

Do you truly believe it has weathered the test of time?

I didn't even like it back then

I cite awards and reader votes and shit deliberately to remove my personal opinion from those articles. History features shouldn't be reviews. It works both ways though, since I acknowledge criticisms I don't agree with of games I like too. Some Wonder Boy fans got on my case for that saying I was too negative, believe it or not.

So yeah, I believe public and critical opinion of the game has weathered the test of time.

  4. I think Mario 64 and ZOOT were both highly overrated. But then, pretty much everything 3D was overrated in the 32/64 bit generation.

Yeah, good call. Superman 64 was totally overrated.

  6. Very nice article, Frog. It reminded me of some Zeldas I've forgotten about (like the GBA one and the Oracle games), which I now have a desire to play after reading your piece. Good work.

Heh, never underestimate how much people will analyze a topic as popular as Zelda. I knew you didn't forget the spin-off games but I enjoyed Four Swords Adventures on GC more than Minish Cap which came out not long after so I was hoping it would get a mention. FSA was a surprisingly good game for a low profile Zelda, and it was made by EAD.

  8. Yeah, we went in and added a bit about FSA, but I was still getting tons of "You forgot the cartoons!" or "You forgot how he was in Soul Calibur II" and such that I just didn't think was worth wasting time on.

  9. YOU FORGOT ZELDA GAME WATCH AND ZELDA GAME & WATCH. HOW COULD YOU FORGET WHEN AQUAMENTUS AND HIS THREE SONS KIDNAPPED ZELDA?

Frog, i really enjoyed reading that!
