I'd say your best bet is getting a new motor, if not, a whole new laser/motor drive. If it powers on, but the disc isn't moving, it's most likely a motor problem.
After a little over 8 years it seems my DC just gave up. In the middle of playing a game the screen turned black and never went back. The music continued to play though.
Now it powers on just fine, but won't read any games. None of the discs are spinning at all. I tried this with no luck. The laser seems to be trying to read games.
Does anyone have experience with something like this? I'm wondering if it may just be the disc motor. If that's it I can get one on ebay easily. Anything else I should try? It's modded so I'd rather fix it if I can than have to replace it.

A simple effective solution, this noob is on his/her way to fitting in.
Kudos
PS When you get their, please pm me with helpful hints
I either give 100% or 0, it's the way it is man.
Sounds like it's time to take the old DC out back and shoot it.
You can get a replacement a lot cheaper than fixing it, I would think.
