i completely agree with you. they're like the Pittsburgh of old. the seasons they were good, they also gave up a helluva lot of goals. they just ended up scoring more than the opposition. goaltending has never been their strong point.

i've said it before but they had gold with Thibault. give the guy 2+ goals a game and you could be a contender.

Exactly. Forsberg and Bourque would have no rings without guys like Adam Foote, Claude Lemieux, Uwe Krupp, Adam Deadmarsh, etc. Names absolutely do not win Cups. Winning Cups can make names, however, thanks to contributions from role players.

Christenson and Armstrong were two of Pittsburgh's scariest players to me. It's too bad they didn't dump Malone too.

Forsberg is a "name" player and Colorado won 2 cups with him. And if you want to get technical, he had 50 points in 47 games with Quebec before going to the Avalanche the following year and winning the cup.
