So wait, who is Montreals goalie now?
They bounced whats his name (Auburn or something) to Colorado in order to bring Huet in (1 or 2 seasons ago), and now move him out for....who?
Edmonton did nothing. Which is ok, seeing as how all their tradeable commodities aside from Roloson are injured and out for the year. Tampa has gotten the goalie they needed, and cleared cap space, Dallas has gotten a whole lot more dangerous if Richards can find his scoring touch, and I think the Habs were trying to land a goalie after ditching Huet and things fell through. Either that or they simply decided they had to make a choice between the two of them.

Barf! Barf! Barf!
Price is Montreal's goalie.
Theodore is the guy they ran off to Colorado.
What is this? WHATIFOTDIDNTEXIST speak? Both teams have winning records on the road, usually indicative of a good team. And, again, we've beaten you every game this season - usually a good indicator of which team is better than the other.
You're the one that keeps bantering about "conference champions" "7 point lead" blah blah blah while conveniently ignoring the fact that your squad, regardless of regular season record, hasn't accomplished shit in years.
And you're telling me that, straight up, you'd take Parise over Lundqvist if you were starting a team? Sure, you can toss in Lundqvist's rookie season Jagr-less cremation at the hands of the Devils and ignore the year he had last year (2.07, .924). Combine that for 2.58, 6-7, and .905
Let's see, here, let me dig this up... okay... got it...
M. Brodeur
2003 1W 4L 2.62 GAA .902 Save %
2005 5W 4L 2.25 GAA .923 Save %
2006 5W 6L 2.44 GAA .916 Save %
Hrm.... 11-14, and a roughly speaking 2.40 GAA and around a .915 Save %.
So, would I take Parise over Lundqvist, who out of the last 5 playoff years has either played similar to or better than "the best goalie now or ever" and actually played better than him last year?
Yeah, I would, if I were smoking crack and sucking Lamariello's dick. Which I'm not nor do I intend to.
A loss is a loss.
Thankfully I don't have to choose. The Devils already have the better goalie and the best young forward. And I don't have to carve out certain years that work for my bullshit argument to back it up.So, would I take Parise over Lundqvist, who out of the last 5 playoff years has either played similar to or better than "the best goalie now or ever" and actually played better than him last year?
So the ducks now have JS Gigueir and JS Aubin.
They needed a contingency plan for when Guigere's pads have to be cut in half to comply with the rules.
Oh, so now going back to the lockout, and before, still doesn't fall within your window of time that's acceptable to argue within?
Seems that no matter what timeframe we're talking about, it's always inconvenient to your side of the argument. I'm presenting to you Lundqvist's entire career in comparison to Brodeur's career within the same timeframe. Their stats are similar and their playoff success has also been similar. You've said that Brodeur is the best goalie, now or ever, and Lundqvist has similar stats. How can you possibly say that you'd take Parise over Brodeur (or a goalie comparable to Brodeur - Lundqvist?).
I can't bring up Lundqvist's stats in 1995-6 when he was 12 years old.
Similarly, I'm not allowed to talk about the fact that Sather has 5 Cups under his belt because that doesn't count because it's not within Yoshi's timeframe. The fact that the Rangers have improved each of the last 3 years is also not within your acceptable window. I have to ignore Sather's entire track record until he came to the Rangers, then evaluate him by his first three years here and then, subsequently, ignore the following three years where he's made progress in all of the areas that you've criticized him for.
Interesting, the way that you argue.
Any way you slice it, Brodeur has been a losing playoff goalie for the past three years in which his teams have been 18, 19 and 25 games above .500 each of those years, respectively. They haven't made it past the second round and haven't won more than a game in any round that they've lost. This is the measuring stick by which I can judge him, comparatively, to Lundqvist since he wasn't in the fucking league before that.
