homolovin.
You have a bigger house than most of us. I live in an apartment with black people around it. None of you would come over.
Smash comes out in a month, right? I can work on this.
So we tried out a place called Laser One all the way up in Sussex (Unlimited laser tag Thursdays 6-11pm btw) and it's pretty bitchin, but I do have complaints:
1) The hallways are very narrow, even though the space is huge
2) the vests are a lot heavier
3) the guns are super gay looking, and way too bulbous.
PLUSES: Two floors, with huge walkways up top, 6 or 7 ramps to get up there, lots of windows and nooks, and grating in the floor to shoot below/get shot through.
The meta-game of gems are sweet. You earn points by shooting other players, but also money, like Counter-Strike. There are "Gems" hidden throughout the arena (but after one play you learn where they are) and they each cost a certain amount of credits. If you shoot one, you earn a powerup, such as invisibility (your lights go dark and you make no noise) or rapid fire (which is the bomb). The gems also have motion sensors near them, if you trip a sensor, you have 30 seconds before the mines fire back. Gems are also worth lots of points.
Minuses -
-Wack guns
-Heavy vests
- Shorter game times than Palisades
- Way too many kids
- Shitty arcade
Overall, it's a lot more elaborate than the Palisades, it's huge, and even if we rented it for a party we'd be dealing with a LOT of kids, not to mention it's practically in west New York, all the way up Route 23.
If there are going to be like 6-8 of us, the Palisades is a better bet, and we can drink right in the mall if we feel like it, or hit up D&B. This place had a real mazelike feel, and the Palisades feels more like a small Gears multi map.
sounds a lot like Laser Quest besides the wacky guns and 'power ups'. LQ over here has the multiple floors with multiple entry points and grating and windows and all that fun stuff. only problem I ever had was that I didn't hit people as much as I know I should have, but then again lasers across a smoky room can only be so accurate.
either way, we need to do this.
