What's Bugging You Today? Volume 3, Part 1

The really shitty thing about these guys is they were driving their work truck. The owner came to the scene to check on things and let's just say he was a bit on the apologetic side. My parents live in Valley Center (a little town north of SD in the middle of nowhere) so everyone knows everyone.

I have to imagine the owner is going to be paying fully for your mom and sisters medical expenses and all that. Who in the fucking hell drives a truck with brakes that only work half the time, and who the fucking hell runs a company like that.

Fuck people suck sooo damn much.

How are your mom and sis doing now?

The business is this little restaurant (Papa Bears) and the guys were making some deliveries. The owner is taking full responsibilty and will be paying out of his ass for this.

My mom and sister are doing ok. My sister is doing the worst. She's only 10, so she's really shaken up and can't move at all. My mom is one of those people who tries to be strong through everything, but even she is having a hard time with the littlest of tasks. My stepdad took some x-rays and he doesn't see any signs of bad damage. They'll just have to be in therapy for a while. The funny thing is that my mom was scheduled to have intensive spinal surgery this summer (she's always had a really messed up back), so hopefully any damage done will be fixed then.

Damn thats just crazy. So they're should be no permanent damage then? From the sounds of it everything in the long run will be ok? If there's no major damage do they have any idea why your sister can't move? Is it just the stress and trauma of it all?

She's probably in shock and I think she's afraid to move so she won't hurt herself any worse. She's never been in a car accident before, so for this one being so bad and her first, it really freaked her out.

The thing she kept saying was that she was afraid she wouldn't be able to ride her horses again. That made me sad, but we all tried to reassure her that everything would be ok.

She's really sore too, which isn't a good sign since usually people don't feel the true effects of an accident until a couple of days later. She's got an appointment to see a medical doctor, so we'll know more after that.

I called up the studio that I'm doing some video projects for to inquire about finishing up one that I'm working on for Georgetown University, and the owner informed me that the drive that I was working off of died. Fucked. Gone. I had a couple other large projects on that drive too. No one ever backed it up. It's a fucking 2.5 hour show, with the DVD menu finished and everything. I had a few hours of cleaning up to do and I'd be done. Now my weekend is totally fucked. I'll be getting paid to fix it of course, but fuck man, I don't want to go through all that again.

Fuck.

Ifeel sick. This is an offshoot to the drunk thread. I haven't eaten an actual meal in two days and I've been drinking since yesterday. I don't really want to stop, though.

One of the drives just went kaput. It's a WD Mybook, and the large ones like we are using have 2 drives in a RAID 0, so if one drive goes, it's all fucked. Data recovery guy told us we are fucked.

I'm fucked.

Kind of close in how scary they are, but that project had a happy ending once our data guy saved our ass. This one shall have no such happy ending.
