  2. That was super annoying, yes. But you've been able to mute it for quite a while.

At some point the entire internet forgot that we had decided we hated webpages automatically blasting sound. News sites are currently worse than porno.

Cnn is formatted like 90's porn

  4. I've stopped reading the news for exactly that reason.
Now I rely on Maddox News to keep me informed.

I feel like everyone on TNL that knows how to code anything read Sat's comments and thought the same things I did. "why would he assume the same algorithm would be used?"

I have my doubts that the kid has ever taken a programming class, as breaking down processes into specifics steps that might each do a separate thing is pretty common in coding. In something like Objective C on an apple product, you would have predefined functions that you can use that do completely different things. In C++ you might write your own and then use them later, or use separate libraries.
Wasn't a kid. This was a graduate student in Data Sciences (the seminar was meant for grad students and instructors in the field.) I'm pretty often one of the only undergrads at talks like this, and often one of the younger people in the room. I just think the stuff is interesting, like I'm paying out the ass for a world class education, I may as well get edumacated.

But, beside the point. he definitely wasn't a kid or a newcomer to data science, lol. Like, he has more schooling than you and I combined.

  8. Proof that there’s no correlation between intelligence and wisdom.

Meh, data science. Their undergrad has the fewest programming classes.

  10. wellllll again, it's not an undergrad dept. It's a university initiative to integrate interdisciplinary fields into the data sciences, and the majority of people involved in it are definitely not undergrads. It's a department, but it's expected coming in that you're familiar with either programming, science and technology studies, or similar. I think my point is the dude was hella schooled, like that's not the issue, but he still asked a really dumb question lol.
