The Ikea 'good stuff' can usually be gotten from Craigslist for the price of the cheap stuff. I've got a few of those vinyl record sized square bookcases, they're hardy!

All of my shelves are from ikea's as-is section.
I just loaded up as many shelves as I could into one book case and bought that as a unit, then came back and got the shelf-less bookcase for an even bigger discount.

The stuff that uses real screws instead of dowels does alright. The "Kallax" or "Expedit" shelves are what I'm talking about, they're fucking great.

Actually, I think so. I went to an old thread I made that was still active and the original post wasn't able to be edited, so I think the answer is "no, you can't close your own thread, or at least one that was made a while ago." Is that an answer? Maybe?

You can close your own thread, which I alerted Doc to and he reopened it.
It is also true that once a thread has hit a certain age, its original post can no longer be edited. Yoshi has bitched it for years.

A big ass rock hit my windshield on the highway so that's fucking fantastic. The worst damage is on the top of the passenger side but it extends the entire length of the windshield.
Hopefully insurance covers it for ya.
