Thread: Facebreaker

  1. Stereotype caricatures, wacky animation, glowing special moves.
    this is goofy to me.

I guess JSRF is an "arcade style" platformer or something.

  2. Semantics, holy shit.

  3. I like it ... Its Ready 2 Rumble all over again. It has okay controls and the speed of the game is perfect. I can't wait for the full release.
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

  4. If it were goofy characters with a Fight Night control style I would have been much happier. Tried the demo and it just feels...off. Like they weren't sure if they wanted it to be a boxing game, a fighting game, or a smash bros. game. Hopefully the full version fleshes things out.

There are no rules, only consequences.

  6. I've played Ready 2 Rumble (both) and felt it had more in common with a boxing game than Facebreaker. Maybe because there's only high and low attacks while most boxing games have high, low, and left/right variations for each? Or like how high and lows are only mixed up by press duration and which combos you go for. Other boxing games at least give jab/hook/uppercuts to work with. I'm not saying it like it's bad thing - it just feels removed from many boxing game conventions.

    I'm sorry.

  9. what do you call these games:

because I think it's safe to say that "arcade sports" is an acceptable way to describe them all. Sports games that are so over the top to the point that they become caricatures of the sports themselves. And they started out in arcades with NBA Jam and Blitz. Hence arcade + sports.

  10. Speaking of which, we need old Blitz ported to XBLA/PSN. Not that newer shitty stuff but the original and 2000, back when it was awesome.
