The church is selling Jesus. Jesus is a bitch. I agree with the NFL.
That needs its own thread. Treating churches and bars differently in this case is pretty ridiculous, especially when you could argue that the bars, in a way, are charging to watch the game, whereas there was no mention of money in the church.

Play nice now guys. It's only what anyone would have expected.

You could argue that, but you'd be a million percent wrong. A massive church congregation is a whole lot more a public venue than a bar. Plus, of course the church is making money off the event.
It's bullshit either way imo, but there is a slippery slope from churches showing the game to movie theaters, etc.
Who the fuck are you?
Hmm off topic but........ Why would the NFL give a shit about large viewings? Isn't that the point of the ads every goddamn timeout? Why would you want to stop more people from seeing them?
oh and LOL @ more NFL Madden.
I'll probably still cave and buy em. Need the yearly NFL game fix somehow.

They want a cut.
And no, it isn't the point at all, because ratings drive ad value, and the number of individual Neilsen boxes tuned in determines ratings. So if a bunch of people with Neilsen boxes are churching it up for the Super Bowl, the ratings take a dive and theoretically the ad time is worth less next year, making the contract worth less to the network.
I'm pretty sure this doesn't actually happen, especially with the Super Bowl, but it shows the underlying rationale of the rules. And if there are rules, there is a legal department somewhere making sure they are followed. It is why we exist.
More viewers isn't a cut? WTF NFL. Your more greedy than most of your players now.
