At wave 20 (on hardcore, river), we had the mounted guys charge in, and due to the 2x health buff they recieve, the guy would only fall off after some serious gunfire, but afterwards his mount would charge in and 1 shot us.

I'm thinking that you should focus fire on the mount rather than the guy on it, though I'm not sure if they count as a single entity until they separate or not. Maybe you can stun the mounts with proxy smoke grenades?

Beat this game last night, pretty fun, although I had more fun with the original. Only have this xbox for one more night (borrowing from a friend), anyone down for some matches tonight? Using his live account of "Bar and Lounge"

What exactly effects how many points you get for killing an enemy?

i THINK POINTS ARE DERIVED FROM THE DAMAGE YOU CAUSED, SO IF SOMEONE ELSE USES ALL THEIR AMMO ON A BOOMER AND YOU PROVEED TO KILL IT WITH A SINGLE PISTOL SHOT YOU ONLY GET A LOW SCORE OFF IT.

Achievements aren't for acts, they are for chapters. Some chapters are longer than others and some acts have more chapters.

Yeah I messed up there. From what I can recall near chapter 3 up to 5 I had the feeling that I have been playing this game for 20 hours and still no end. Not that it annoyed me, I enjoyed every part of it.

Found 2 good combination last night for them, Shield+magnum gun much easier to aim on the mount's head, you kinda slow it down which makes the next bullets much easier to land, and the shield protects you from the locust's pistol.

Or flamethrower.

(Story mode)

Obviously in horde mode they are much harder to kill, but I still have confidence the flamethrower delivers on them same for the big ones with the shield, killed one on hardcore in less than 5 seconds.
