Flash Replacement

Is there something other than Macromedia Flash I could use to create animated banners for the top of my companies website? Since Flash is as bad as Microsoft about pricing I'd like to try to avoid paying for business licenses with Macromedia. So if anyone knows of some good alternatives I'm open to suggestions.

Nah I wouldn't want to. But paying 3k for fucking flash is absurd.
