I wasn't arguing your point. I was pointing out that people go ape shit when I play the "shit doesn't work that way" card.

But to answer your question, police presence should obviously be prioritized based on the risk of violent crimes, since preventing those is the most important thing they do. Once they are in certain areas and not others based on that, I don't know how you tell them not to uphold the law. I am not even sure what other logical options exist. It's the same reason I could speed on a country road and never be caught but would get pulled over 10 times driving down I-95 at the same amount over the limit.

Is jail a lottery or a draft? Do unlucky black people have the wrong five numbers and get sent away while they were minding their own business and playing by the rules? We have too damned many unskilled American born burdens on society in this country. The last thing we need to do is open the floodgates for more citizens that have nothing to offer in return. All that will do is increase our Federal spending with zero return on the investment. We have a fully functional immigration system. The problem is that our efforts to enforce it don't work. All of our families had to immigrate at some point, unless someone is at least part Native American. The difference is that the vast majority of them did it by the rules and offered the country something for approving their citizenship.

If blacks didn't get significantly harsher sentences/arrests for similar crimes then maybe we could drop the "stop sending so many blacks to jail". Especially since a bazillion of their arrests are drug related in nature, or gang related. Gang related is of course debatable. The War on Drugs is horse shit. Fixing ALL drug problems is treatment, not punishment.

Lack of documentation and the exorbitant citizenship process is what keep tons of undocumented doing unskilled jobs. They can't advance to anything else and it makes getting education a hell of a lot more difficult. They're coming here anyways despite our laws and enforcements. We might as well quit whining about it like pussies and adapt the system. Make it super easy and actually allow a free market on citizenship instead of crying to the government to protect us from the poor Mexican who's trying to improve his life.

Saying shit like "open the floodgates for more citizens that have nothing to offer in return" is why every one here treats you like a callous racist.

Do the majority of illegal immigrants come to the U.S. to sell drugs and collect welfare checks? I'm seriously asking, as I'm wondering what Yoshi means by "having nothing to offer in return." I'm wondering why he thinks they come here in the first place.

I can think of a few things, just off the top of my head:

- Promote in poor areas fields of study that don't require 4-year degrees and massive loans. Areas such as nursing, for example.
- Offer loan forgiveness in exchange for national service in low income areas for those students who do earn a 4-year degree.
- Build up public libraries and internet labs in poverty-stricken areas so kids can have access to books from an early age.
- Promote and support school libraries while revising and enhance school curriculum in poor schools to include more reading.
- Offer educators in low income areas specialized professional development aimed at teaching and working with kids from poor families. Not all school populations are the same, so there's no reason why all teacher training should be.
- Design and implement two-way bilingual education programs with a 50-50 goal so that immigrant students can ease into English at an acceptable rate and be proficient in the language by the time they reach middle school.

This is just me thinking out loud, but there is a LOT that can be done. No one simply gives a shit.

Take Mexico by force and give it back to the Mexican people. Kill every drug lord, every corrupt politician, dismantle their government and military and do some serious nation building.

It is disgraceful that we dare to police other countries with our military but we have a country below us that loves both the US and their own country but we sit idly by doing nothing as their country descends into shit.

But the US will never do anything. The rich like the drugs and cheap labor too much. Mexicans are the best slaves we've had in a long time.

I think the politicians are just happy because all the fighting and dying is happening on the other see of the border. If El Paso saw a quarter of the violence of Ciudad Juarez, there would be major changes to policy in a fortnight.

Our "war on drugs" is literally destroying that country and nobody gives a shit.

They have nothing to offer except easily exploitable labor for dirt cheap. Cheap ass farming, cheap ass janitors, cheap ass housekeepers, landscapers etc. etc. etc. Undocumented workers do a lot of jobs quite necessary for society for dirt cheap.
