Make three strikes death instead of life in prison. You don't need the expensive appeals, because you can't appeal three convictions at once anyway.

So they're supposed to become doctors and lawyers in their wartorn shit hole of a country THEN come here? Since becoming a citizen is a hassle and documentation is also a hassle our immigration system is set up to encourage them coming here and skirting the system rather than becoming doctors or lawyers. But hey, I guess just like the war on drugs you think it's better to keep footing the bill for punishment rather than treatment of immigration problems. Especially since punishing immigrants has done so much to curb the immigration problem ammirite?
Keep them the fuck out, and no one has to get punished. Our immigration system wasn't such a hassle that millions of our relatives couldn't get through it. And who the fuck considers lawyers either a need or skilled?

If you want to do all the bullshit you're proposing, donate more to charities that do what you believe in. I'd really like to hear how much the liberals here donate and to what to see how much walk walking there is instead of just gum flapping.

edit: Joe Biden is a gum flapper.

Soooo, you're solution to addictions is to kill them if they stay addicted too long? What a monster. Still wouldn't stop drug use tho. Would likely make the problem worse as drug costs skyrocketed due to increased risk.

Millions of our relatives just had to make it here on a boat. Ellis Island didn't require sponsors or tests or money. Ok, instead of lawyers insert Electrical Engineers.

Donating millions won't re-arrange our laws, perhaps if we bribed politicians with millions like lobbyists. Quit playing the "I care more than you because I have and give lots of money away" card. It will do nothing to stop many of the problems America faces. My wife and I are barely scraping by right now. We didn't get to graduate college with no kids during the Clinton years and build a career during the Bush Admin and make all the perfect life decisions you made. Therefore even if we gave till it hurts it wouldn't do anything (even though we do donate when we can) although my wife does work for Center for Drug Free Living and does volunteer while I stay home with the kids while she volunteers (edit: I have a full time job). So you can take that conservative vs. liberal line and shove it because additional money to charities wouldn't fix our shit and is the reddest herring I've EVER seen.

The word you're looking for is "felons." And we're back to it being luck again. But at least your family contributes in the way you can to what you believe in. That's more than a lot of people do.

Why is it productive to treat them like felons? What has the war on drugs and punishment rather than treatment accomplished?

Because they are felons by definition at the point you're talking about. The war on drugs has largely been a waste, and I actually see some merit in legalization of some drugs so that we can tax the living shit out of them instead. If you want to use that to fund treatment and medical care in general, go for it. And throw tobacco in there too.

  6. cause Illegal immigrants are felons. That's why the first word is Illegal and they're not called "Its Okay" Immigrants.

I had to go through the process of being legal at the age of 6. Screw you. They should too.

He was talking about crack heads, not immigrants.

    You were adopted, right?

You shouldn't have had to go through the process, especially at age 6. Wanting others to suffer or go through needless hassles in life because you have is a horrible personality trait.

How the fuck is it a needless hassle? The needless hassle is dealing with the illegals.

    edit: Read this.

    • Among the largest costs are Medicaid ($2.5 billion); treatment for the uninsured ($2.2 billion); food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches ($1.9 billion); the federal prison and court systems ($1.6 billion); and federal aid to schools ($1.4 billion).
    • With nearly two-thirds of illegal aliens lacking a high school degree, the primary reason they create a fiscal deficit is their low education levels and resulting low incomes and tax payments, not their legal status or heavy use of most social services.
    • On average, the costs that illegal households impose on federal coffers are less than half that of other households, but their tax payments are only one-fourth that of other households.
    • Many of the costs associated with illegals are due to their American-born children, who are awarded U.S. citizenship at birth. Thus, greater efforts at barring illegals from federal programs will not reduce costs because their citizen children can continue to access them.
    • If illegal aliens were given amnesty and began to pay taxes and use services like households headed by legal immigrants with the same education levels, the estimated annual net fiscal deficit would increase from $2,700 per household to nearly $7,700, for a total net cost of $29 billion.
    • Costs increase dramatically because unskilled immigrants with legal status -- what most illegal aliens would become -- can access government programs, but still tend to make very modest tax payments.
    • Although legalization would increase average tax payments by 77 percent, average costs would rise by 118 percent.
    • The fact that legal immigrants with few years of schooling are a large fiscal drain does not mean that legal immigrants overall are a net drain -- many legal immigrants are highly skilled.
    • The vast majority of illegals hold jobs. Thus the fiscal deficit they create for the federal government is not the result of an unwillingness to work.
    • The results of this study are consistent with a 1997 study by the National Research Council, which also found that immigrants' education level is a key determinant of their fiscal impact.

    1. Misunderstood. I'm tired; schoolwork and fulltime job taking its toll on me.

    2. Yes I was adopted, but I was still considered an Illegal alien. Since, I was adopted at the age of 6 months. So, yeah for me to be a Citizen I had to go through the process. My mom still has my 1975 green card.

Read above. Its not suffrage. If you submit to the gov't that you want to be naturalized. While, you wait(eg: waiting list) you get a card (green card?). Thus, you have all the rights and privileges of a US Citizen. Its not difficult and its not some fucking "OH MY GAWD THE TORTURE!" bullshit so many claim it to be.
