to cover your ass. especially when you edited it right after I posted.

Born in 1973 means you graduate in 1995 or so - boom times. The time you graduate affects your entire working life. And it's something totally out of your control. People don't realize it, but it's true. Its a lot easier when you step out in the real world and see nothing but help wanted signs.
Of course, there's always work for right wing hacks.

In other news, 2012 vs. 1984: Young adults really do have it harder today
My post first only said it was the worst article ever written. THEN I added in some bit to bitch about baby boomer and their kids and the shitty attitudes they throw around on younger people cuz fuck 'em and my edit and your post both came in at the same time. I didn't even see your post before I clicked the edit button. Whatever, if you wanna be right that badly then fine.... ya got me.
It doesn't change shit that there's a ton of people who got to grow up and develop careers during times of strong economic growth and stability now complaining to kids in their late teens or twenties about the kids behaviors when it's largely THEIR generations fault that we've grown up the way we have in aggregate and how we should roll with punches they didn't have to and keep our mouths shut about it all the while deriding us for not all of us being smart/lucky enough to be positioned enough to well weather the shit storm THEY made for us. /run on.
I agree with Diff whole heartedly on this.
Yeah think of a HS grad in 1933 vs 1953. One scrapes by on the farm to avoid starvation, disease, and foreclosure. The other gets a dope factory job putting wheels on Fords, makes enough to buy a home, send kids to college and shit. Dunno why you don't hear more people talk of this.
Lies and LIBERAL slander!

Columbia senior class responds to Mr. Douche.
That must be the new military. The one I was in did everything to kill individualism and make everyone the same, and then it did everything possible to contradict itself. By the time I finished BMT, the bottom of the barrel was what was mostly left, and that was the way they wanted it.Wearing a uniform, she said, helped her figure out what it was that really distinguished her as an individual.

I don't disagree, but Baby Boomer is an actual generation name and Boom times is not. That was my issue with you Bojack ... That's it.
anecdotal time!
I remember graduating in '93 and having a job. I also know that it took me about a month to find a job back in December. When I got it I was happy and found out that the place had 20 more positions. When the kids were told pay they declined. I went from a salary of 15 to a now paulty 8.25. I will say I am happy that I HAVE a job. I also am happy i can pay rent and buy food. Point being it took admitting I just need money no matter what the pay and accepting the job. Could I have posted in the What's bugging me thread and whining like "The Ghost of TNL" about low pay and not getting what I am really worth? Sure, but I didn't.

Yes, be happy that you, a working man in the prime of his earning years, are being paid about the same amount I was making in 1998 selling kids Pokemon cards at EB.
Sorry but from my POV your story is a fucking travesty. Id say its not your fault, but you keep voting for Republicans and against your own self interest. This is what they want.
