I'm just saying the "WOE IS ME" bullshit Democrats are pulling right now is selective. All of this tit for tat stuff going on is pointless when everything is tied up by backdoor corporate money. I'm not even suggesting corporate money be taken off the table - I'd just make it transparent so people could object fairly and lobby with their own cash, in kind.
No, because not everything Republicans think and do is bad. Historically they were a party that stood up for individual liberties and Dems stood up for group rights so it was a good dynamic. These days, since 9/11 really, it's been security over liberty.

Have you ever heard the phrase, "politics is the art of the possible"?
I wish Obama would've pushed more for singlepayer, but a lot of Democrats in the Senate would have not agreed. That's all it comes down to. To get a really good health care plan through we would've needed LBJ and he is not LBJ.
Something positive?
My bank can no longer charge me overdraft without my consent. That's positive. Also, health insurance companies need to spend 70-80 cents of every dollar on actual care and can't deny someone based on a pre-existing condition. That's positive. He repealed the executive order banning Stem Cell research.
And how much do the first two cost versus the benefit? The higher risks to the companies get passed straight to the customers who don't need those protections.
I don't buying one or two fewer videogames a year so someone with a pre-existing condition can get treatment because I am not a colossal asshole.
