I very nearly moved to Korea to teach. Had my bags packed and everything. But then I didn't. Shit happens. No regrets, but I might try it again down the line.
Here's a question for bbobb: If I feel like attempting to do the JET thing, what are the qualifications? I have a BA and enough writing experience to make up for not majoring in English, but I'd imagine they want a bit more than that.

Teaching English overseas (especially in Japan) sounds like an awesome job for a couple of years. How much of travel/housing/transportation is arranged by the employer and how much of it is just like getting a job anywhere else in the US?
It depends on the employer. One of the thing that makes JET incredibly good is that they pay for your plane ticket to Japan, you get discounted Teacher housing (I pay $100 a month for my apt, which is fairly large by japanese standards) and they pay for your plane ticket back to the US afterwards.
The other eikaiwa's do not pay for your flight to Japan or back, and only a few of them help with housing.
