  2. Damn I would be all over that. I love attention, I love teaching and I'm pretty good about being treated as different anyway. But... law school already.

    Well, not really save, I use a good chunk to work on paying back credit cards and student loans. I should be completely out of credit card debt by the end of this year.

  4. Yeah, that was basically my plan. Work for a year to pay of my student loans. They would set you up with a place, but they took some of it out of your pay, so if you wanted to find something better and keep the money you could... seemed like a good enough deal.

  5. Alot of Japanese I talked to had a stigma against English teachers. Just something to think about.

    It depends on where you're at.

    In the big city there's a shit ton of foreigners there teaching english.

    In the rural areas, not so much.

  7. I've had several friend go though the Jet program and they all have great stories about living in Japan. My one friend loved living in Japan but couldn't stand his students, and he got to live in his apartment for free (but it had roaches). Another girl ended up in a super rural area and they were really freaked out by her red hear and green eyes and she said once they found out she could speak Japanese no one even tried to speak English to her after that (Though apparently in more populous areas lots of people will try to practice speaking English to you).

    I've thought about doing the Jet program myself, but right now I'm floating a few ideas, a lot depends on if I get the job I want next month.
