That's fair. I struggled with different ways to draw my dog, but the one I settled with is easily the best one that I thought captured my dog the most. It definitely takes on Brian from FG though, and while I love that show, it's not something I aimed for originally.

Oh well. I'm just doing these for fun anyway. Mostly using the time to practice with my tablet/photoshop/illustrator.

Best reason to do a comic, honestly.

Doing it for the sole reason of making money turns you into CtrlAltDel (DON'T GO TO THEIR WEBSITE YOU'LL GIVE THEM POWER).

Stop aping Penny Arcade from five years ago, please. Art-wise they left that look in the dust a long time ago. If you're going to emulate that strip, look at the art Tycho's doing lately.

Or better yet, ape a better strip than Penny Arcade. Go look at Octopus Pie or Scary Go Round.

If you're just trying to knock out simple drawings, you could up the level of the content. Achewood's drawing style looks like shit the first time you read it, but as you get into the strip, every line on those characters is a "tell" for what they're thinking.

But please. Try to do something original.

Like I said, I'm just doing these for the heck of it, and to practice. I happen to like that 5 year old style of PA. I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel here. I agree that I should be more original, no doubt, but, I'm just having fun goofing around.

I've got no problem with doing it for fun, just have some courtesy for the reader.

Try playing around with camera angles, and lose the black border.
