It's a good game, from what I've played of Tain's I like it. But 10/10 is just bullshit hype.
People will be bored with it in a few weeks maybe a month.
10/10 for making a new thread topic for this while the GTA4 thread is still lit up like Christmas.

People who only play offline games will probably be playing it for the next two years, or however long it takes for a sequel to hit.

Let me rephrase by I think TNL will only be playing it for a few more weeks. Every now and then Chux will be like "Hey niggers, let's play some GTA4 online" and they will. But once TNL stops playing I generally stop caring.
Please elaborate, because I think I agree with you. Which is weird. It appears to go forward in a lot of ways but backwards in a bunch as well and I can't really put it any better than that without playing it more.
Personally I think VC was really the game to compare IV to.
SA just did a lot of out there things because it had nothing new to bring to the table: jet pack, monster trucks, wilderness and some crazy missions about aliens and such. VC on the other hand took all the good things from III and then added in meaningful additions like the helicopters and motorcycles.
Not to mention that the world, characters, music and story of VC was better than both III and SA.
That being said I think GTA IV is the best game in the series by a large margin.
