Thread: Same Name, Different Game

  1. Contra arcade wins, hands-down, as does Strider arcade.

Why was there never a home version of Black Tiger? That game should have turned into a major Capcom franchise instead of an arcade one-off.

  2. If we're comparing unrelated TMNT games, how about X-Men arcade vs. X-Men NES?

Technically, Black Tiger did have home versions. They were on computers, not consoles. I agree Capcom should have made a franchise out of it.

That wasn't actually a game. Someone digitally vomited and thought the colors resembled X-Men characters, so LJN thought they can cash in on that as quick as possible.

  5. Did LJN make any good games? I honestly don't remember any.

I remember thinking LJN's The Punisher for NES (developed by Beam, IIRC) was pretty good.

  7. Only for the sax player. If it would have used the Zapper, it would have been much better, I think.

Karate Kid has good memories attached to it for me, but is far from good.

  8. You forgot Double Dragon NES vs Arcade NEO and also After Burner You're slipping!!

  9. Ummm Double Dragon was the same game, minus 2-player, Biff.

They didn't turn it into a helicopter game or something.

    Wrong wrong wrong.

You had to earn hearts, it had different characters and a vs mode, the levels were totally different etc etc.

The difference is comparable to Bionic commando in terms of depth added to the game.
