  1. Hey now, easy trigger.

I'm not a fan of a car you have to plug in, half the time I forget the charge my cell until it's fucking beeping at me in the middle of the night.

That's very cool to hear, can they go further than 100 miles yet on a single charge?

This is also my big issue with electric motors. I hardly ever remember to plug anything I have in to charge. I suck like that.

I posted this in the Car thread.

I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

  4. I have to be honest I'm pretty impressed by that, too bad its 100k.

220 is getting up there, much better than past electric cars for sure. I'd like to see it get into the 300 - 400 range. Well I should say that depends on how long the car takes to charge.

  5. Remember Leno said about 3 hours for a full charge from empty.

  6. Ahh I missed that part. See yeah that's why they need to get the distance traveled up, or it to charge in a couple of minutes. I've been known to make some pretty long road trips, and having to stop every like 3 - 4 hours of driving to sit around and charge the car for 3 hours would be a complete and total deal breaker. It's one thing to pull in for gas that takes all of 5 - 10 minutes its another to be sitting around for 3 hours while the car charges.

    NOT THE SAME THING!
"Barreling down the highway out of control?" I'm sure that the average truck driver has a much greater concept of control of his/her vehicle than Joe Car Driver. I was implying that you can't blame the trucker for being bound by physics; when a vehicle and its load weighs 80,000 lbs., it's not going to be able to stop on a dime when a tin can merges onto the highway at 40 mph. If the trucker is in heavy traffic traveling at 70 miles per hour or more with nowhere to go, whose fault is it when the car is hit? If you still blame the trucker, well, "I had the right of way!" will make a great epitaph.

You didn't really watch it did you. 210 miles on one full charge. You can drive it with any amount of charge. 210 miles is plenty enough.

  9. I wonder what driving style that mileage is based on. I'd imagine you could go further if you're not driving it like a supercar.

There are other cars that do over 300 to a charge now. It's matter of time before it trickles down to us, it's still very new tech.

Has anyone heard about the environmental issues with the batteries? I remember hearing claims of it being a biohazard in case of an accident and stuff like that. Don't remember hearing how long they last and what it takes/costs to replace them.

Exactly, it doesn't matter if you were rear ended by a trucker and technically not at fault. Your still hurt, and the truck is fine. So all this business about who's fault it is is irrelevant. I hate people who merge onto the highway doing 50 mph. It's been my experience that more accidents are caused by slow drivers then fast drivers on the highway. I don't know if that's statistically true or not, but in my experience and what I've seen it is.

And I completely agree about NJ being awesome. And I completely think this car would be a horrible idea on American roads.
