I ran into some problems on my pc so I had to format. Everything was going well until I tried to install the drivers for the video card that I have. It's an ATI Radeon 9800 XT I believe. Anyway when I try to install the drivers it asks that I install the standard video drivers first. I looked on google and it said to uninstall the drivers that windows put on and reboot and that would install the standard ones, but that doesn't work. I can't seem to find the standard drivers even when I look to choose the driver to install myself. What the fuck is happening and does anyone have any answers?
Go to control panel.
Choose your vga adaptor.
Right click it-choose properties in options tab.
Choose update driver.
Now select driver manually.
Choose standard vga adaptor.
Now save and restart.
Then try and install your catalyst drivers.
