Yeah but in a playoff without a series, I dunno what you can do. The opposing team in the next match has a huge advantage if the whole team is simply gassed because it took 300 minutes to score a goal.

Honestly, it would better if the PK was taken from the edge of the box, so the keeper didn't have to purely guess. Shit, I literally never missed a PK in all the years I played. It shouldn't be that way.
Does that make it less boring though?
Boring isn't my issue with it. It's the coin flip nature. NHL shootouts, which aren't even used in the playoffs, actually are a real one-on-one chess match. It's not rock, paper, scissors, lizard, Spock.
