I adore Fantasy Zone 2 on the SMS but never played the DX revision. I'm buying this ...right now! Its almost like a brand new game it seems with all the good/bad ending stuff.
edit: Just played a bit. This is like a brand new game! Its really nothing like the SMS FF2. The "dark world" portions are harder and those bosses are MUCH harder! wow..couldn't pass the second boss! Looks great!

Yeah, it's not really a remake in the usual sense as much as an alternate history version of what could have been. It borrows locations and bosses and music from the original but it's more or less a new game, not an attempt to prettify or modernize an old one.
