Thread: Diablo III (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch)

    Are you reading these interviews?

"Incorporating more involved questing and role-playing elements is something Blizzard is focusing on with Diablo III, but also make the gameplay more dynamic. "We had bosses in Diablo II but, again, they weren't really involved. We really want to try to implement bosses that are much more epic, there's much more gameplay to actually defeating them. We're taking cues from games like Zelda, God of War, games like that, bring that to the action-RPG genre. We want to have side quests and scenarios that are much more involved…like defend the town from attack or something like that."

There'll still be acts. There'll be above and underground sections of maps, though the outdoor environment won't be as randomized, as Blizzard wants to build more distinct personality into some of the game's sections. There still will be plenty of randomization though when it comes to items, monsters, and dungeons."

Thing about Diablo II was that all the same quests were always there, but in Diablo 1 one of the best things is that you'd find new QUESTS on each playthrough, though there weren't really enough. I wonder if they'll compromise between those. I played Diablo 1 way too many times to see every quest, even though the quests were somewhat disappointing.

People are complaining about health orb drops, wtf? The goal of Diablo is kicking ass. Idiots.

"While we thought at first that this was a boss due to its sheer bulk and the complexity of its attacks, it was later confirmed this was just a run-of-the-mill mob, the likes of which you can expect to see on a fairly regular basis."

    ANSWER:

"Random dungeons will still be a big part of Diablo III. In fact, randomness will prevail throughout the game (and we mean that in a good way). In addition to having randomly created dungeons to explore, the developers have also introduced random monsters, random loot droops, and new random scripted events into the game to make each playthrough a new experience."

"The random scripted events sound like one of the coolest additions to the game. Each playthrough, players will encounter scenarios that are quite different from their previous trip through the game. In one area, you might see a house filled with undead enemies--along with a story about the home's former residents. The second time you play through that same area might contain a caravan that you'll be prompted to escort to safety. The next time that area might simply be filled with monsters just begging for the opportunity to be killed by you."

It's like they knew exactly what my only problem with DII was. OMG. THEY ARE IN MY MIND.

I foresee myself playing this game a million times.

  7. I'm really into the set-outdoors but randomized-dungeons setup.

  8. I foresee Cow buying a new mouse.
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

  9. I tried playing each of the diablo games. I lapsed into a half-coma from the brainlessness of it very soon both times. Still, this looks awesome and I want to like it.

Seriously the randomized scripted events in D1 were the best aspect of the game, so WHOOPEE.
