That shouldn't be happening. There is a sticker on the back of the controller that says it is FCC compliant, and if its interfering with your cell phone, it is possibly broken. Try calling customer service and see what they say...

Lol! Yes! I have an old cordless from 1994 and lately there's been tons of static and I noticed I was getting it when I had my Xbox on. Then one day I noticed the static was acting up everytime I put my controller S near it. Worked like a charm every time, near, I get static, put it farther away, the static lessened. I'm gonna assume this was because it's an old phone. If anyone wants to investigate this I could tell you what kinda of phone I'm using(Brand and whatnot) if it'll help.
The S-controllers secretly have a transmitter inside them through which Microsoft is tapping your phone lines. Don't worry, you'll get used to it.
I don't use the cordless phone, so I've noticed nothing myself.
