That does suck about the flood.
I just want to say I have never played a Galaxy II but it looks awesome.
Sucks about the Vectrex. Seriously.

Galaxy II was a pretty decent Galaxian clone. A wasted Vectrix is always a tragedy.

You can't really buy them at stores, so I would probably either find a website that sells it, or find a high Buy It Now auction on ebay. You can't really base a value on an old system because one guy got lucky and bought a system for 5 bucks on a low auction, since there are 10 of them that are $400. Right?
Man, that's quite unfortunate. Did you play any of those systems at all?
Why haven't you mentioned this on IRC?...or has this recently happened?
I used to play them, now they are just stored. (or rather were stored) I played them a few times, even with the guys from IRC. The Vectrex and the analogue Pong were always a sure win, when the nerds gathered. It happened yesterday.

Let those suckers dry out for a good handful of days, and I bet some of 'em will still function.
We had a bad flood at one of my apts once with nearly knee deep water in our basement. My entire SNES collection was under water for almost 8 hours before I realized it. After unboxing everything I poured the water out of the carts and console, and tried to spread out any salvageable manuals and packaging. The mini SNES console was literally full of water. Besides ruined manuals and boxes, everything works to this day.
It still sucked because a bunch of mint complete SFC and SNES games got trashed, but I can still play them after all.
Yeah, it's just rainwater...
Shootin': After I learned that I wasn't covered by any insurance, that exactly what I did. The Epoch Galaxy II actually works. I can't believe your SNES didn't rust inside? Did you take it apart and blowdry it, or what? This gives me great hope. (Sorry about your story though, I imagine your anguish)
Dunlap: Actually I don't know WHAT it was. The sewers got flooded and I believe water also entered the basement from the overflowing sewage system. I better disinfect the salvaged items...

I had my basement flood with shit water once. Something backed up somewhere in the neighborhood and it was gross.
I got a fuckload of money out of it so whatever.
