Thread: TNL Bicycles Volume I: Wild And Wacky Action Bike

  1. I found a bike co-op here in San Francisco. I think I'm going on Monday to try and get a shift to volunteer.

Replacing the cog will be really easy, this one can just be quickly popped off. So it's really not a big deal. It just gives me more options, ideally I want the hardest gear to be the only one I pedal in (with the exception of the some of the monster hills around here) so if it's heavier I have something to strive for.

  3. Just get the hugest fucking chainwheel ever and you'll be set.

i don't know how the smaller rings are usable.

  5. Pretty cute mang!

I need to hop on youtube tomorrow and figure out how to tighten my front break. I still can't bust out the super endos as well as I should be...

  6. hating fixed gears is the new fixed gear.

  7. That reminds me. Nemo, you still riding fixed?

Also, that website makes timecube look like a coherent and tolerant masterwork of design.

  8. finch - aye, bike is still fixed gear.

Put in quite a few 20+ mile rides over the summer. Enjoyable, but I still don't buy into the whole "fixed gear puts you more in tune with the road" stuff.

I do like the super clean look and the silence, don't get me wrong.

I'll most likely convert it over to freewheel next spring.

I used the fixed for commuting, but when I wanted to go out and enjoy my rides I busted out the longboard or one of the other bikes (mountain, bmx).

  9. Yeah, the zen crap is stupid. My chainline's off, so i'm not at all silent, and i don't give a shit about clean looks. Ride it if you like it, but don't do it if you're just doing it to do it.
